What you're actually applying for
This one form covers all four programs. You do not need to know which you want — that is the specialist's job, and the right answer often turns out to be two of them in sequence. A distributor with a large retail order typically needs purchase order financing to pay the supplier, then receivables financing to bridge the retailer's terms once the goods ship.
What we are assessing is not really you. It is whether the businesses you invoice pay their bills, and whether the paperwork proves the work was delivered and accepted. That is why a two-year-old company with blue-chip customers often gets better terms than a twenty-year-old one selling to shaky buyers.
You're likely to qualify if
- You sell to other businesses or government agencies
- Your invoices are for completed work or delivered goods
- Your customers have reasonable commercial credit
- Your business is registered in the United States
- You invoice at least around $10,000 a month
- Your invoices aren't already pledged to another lender
That last point is the one that catches people out. An existing blanket lien does not rule you out, but it has to be resolved — by payoff, subordination or carve-out — before funding. Raising it in your first conversation can save weeks.
